1991 – Attached P1-Orientering – a current affairs radio programme in National Danish Broadcasting Service, DR as a freelance correspondent
1995-2004 Editorial member of the DR Documentary-group. Tom Heinemann has produced more than 20 radio-documentaries for National Danish Broadcasting Service (DR).
He has been runner-up three times for the “Cavling”- prize as journalist of the year in Denmark.
Tom Heinemann was awarded the “Bording-prize” for 2006.
In the spring of 2006 he produced a documentary for National Danish Television (DR1) on the production and manufacturing of cotton and textiles in India. “A Killer Bargain” has been shown in aprx. 20 countries
In April 2007, he was – as the first ever – awarded as ”Outstanding Investigative Journalist”. The Danish Association of Investigative Journalism (FUJ).
Together with Erling Borgen he – again in 2009 – received the prize from The Danish Association of Investigative Journalism (FUJ).
Winner of the Prix Italia-prize for “A Killer Bargain” in Verona, Italy 2007. “Solid investigative journalism with a world wide significance. A brave work….”
Along with Erling Borgen, he has produced several investigative documentaries on global issues
In late 2010/2011 he directed and produced a Nordic TV-documentary on Micro credit – an award winning documentary on the darker sides of Microfinance
Tom Heinemann was awarded the “Grand Jury” award and the “Special TV-price” at the EU-Commissions “Lorenzo Natali Price” 2011.
He is a well known lecturer at universities and international journalist conferences.
In total, he has received some 20 international awards for his work on global issues.
